Short description
A quick and filling pasta with red lentils, tomato sauce, and spices. Perfect for busy weeknights when you want something nutritious without too much effort.
Ingredients
- 250 g pasta, preferably whole-grain or legume-based
- 150 g red lentils
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 500 g tomato sauce
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp basil
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and black pepper
- Nutritional yeast, optional
Method
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions.
- In a separate pan, sauté the onion and garlic.
- Add the red lentils, tomato sauce, and a little water.
- Cook for 15–20 minutes, until the lentils are soft.
- Season with salt, black pepper, oregano, and basil.
- Mix the sauce with the pasta.
- Sprinkle with nutritional yeast if desired.
Tip
Red lentils cook down easily and make the sauce thick and creamy.
