Short description
A quick and filling pasta with red lentils, tomato sauce, and spices. Perfect for busy weeknights when you want something nutritious without too much effort.

Ingredients

  • 250 g pasta, preferably whole-grain or legume-based
  • 150 g red lentils
  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 500 g tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Nutritional yeast, optional

Method

  1. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions.
  2. In a separate pan, sauté the onion and garlic.
  3. Add the red lentils, tomato sauce, and a little water.
  4. Cook for 15–20 minutes, until the lentils are soft.
  5. Season with salt, black pepper, oregano, and basil.
  6. Mix the sauce with the pasta.
  7. Sprinkle with nutritional yeast if desired.

Tip
Red lentils cook down easily and make the sauce thick and creamy.
