Great, lighter, happier. Not the words you’d expect from someone who just finished a three day juice cleanse. Those words are the reason I made it through. Actually I have never been able to stick to any kind of diet for more than a couple of days, until now.
I wanted to get rid of some extra bloat left over from giving birth 11 weeks ago, so I decided the Blossom Du Jour juice cleanse was the way to go and I was right! I didn’t eat any food for 84 hours (Tuesday night until Saturday morning). Instead I was constantly drinking a juice.
The juices range from the Field of Greens (spinach, cucumber, apple and lemon) to my favorite the Pretty in Pink (red beets, pineapple and apple) to Coconut Water & Nut Milks. For those worried about taste you will be happy to know the juices are all easy to drink and I’d say some are even really yummy!
On a normal day of eating I usually get hunger pains sometime mid-afternoon and again at dinner, but during the cleanse I was surprisingly never hungry. I also get shaky when I don’t eat enough or go too long between meals, but that didn’t happen either.
In the end I lost three pounds, but I think what’s even better is I set myself on a path to rid my body of toxins. It’s great to feel much lighter and healthier after just three days.(Full disclosure: I do PR for BDJ, BUT even if I didn’t this review would be the same.
