First let me say that it’s great to have more options for toddler food that you can prepare quick that is also healthy and organic.
Second of all I’m glad there are at least two vegetarian options. The veg options are the Macaroni & Cheese with butternut squash & the Vegetable Risotto with quinoa and Parmesan.
Most macaroni and cheese options out there for kids have practically no nutritional value therefore my 22-month-old rarely gets to eat it. I am all about her eating lots of veggies at every meal. This Mac & cheese has the veggies cooked right in. Actually one of the main ingredients is butternut squash purée. There is also carrot & onion purée in it. It packs 13 grams of protein also. So yep once again vegetarian skeptics no need to worry where my little one is getting protein. She gets plenty in the food she eats.
Now for the Vegetable Risotto. It’s made with brown rice, zucchini, carrots, corn, carrot, green beans, onion, butternut squash and quinoa. Love that the grains are brown rice & quinoa!
Oh & both meals are pretty low in sodium. That didn’t seem to bother Alexia. She liked both & surprisingly seemed to like the risotto the best. They also are pretty generous portions for toddlers. Alexia can’t finish the whole thing in one sitting. Not even close.
Hope to see even more vegetarian and hopefully a vegan option as well soon!
