My sweet little Alexia is now 5 months and she still amazes me. She has been sleeping about 11 hours a night since 3 months in. People said that would end, but it hasn’t! They said when she started teething it would definitely change, but now she has two teeth and she still sleeps 11 hours. Ha ha!!!!
Yes, she got her two bottom teeth earlier than usual. We noticed some shadows about a month and a half back, but then on February 2nd my friend Julie actually felt them. Just a couple days later they actually started poking through.
Because of the teeth coming in we decided to start feeding her some purees earlier than we had planned. So she had peas for the first time on February 4th.
She also now has this fits of uncontrollable laughter. Something as simple as looking at her dad has made her laugh for 5 minutes straight.
On February 14th we brought in a nanny, Patsy, to try out with her for the first time. She really seemed to like the nanny and even had one of her laughing fits when Patsy threw one of her rattles up in the air over and over again.
As you can see her hair is still super long. People also said that it would fall out, but it hasn’t. It gets longer and fuller everyday. She already has about 20 bows for her hair. If she doesn’t wear a bow her hair is so long it covers her eyes. I really don’t want to give her a haircut yet so for now it just gets pulled back!
She also sits up on her own for a few seconds, but she can’t pull herself into that position. She does seem to love sitting up though so I’m sure any day now she’ll be pulling herself up.
She also looks like she wants to crawl, but at this point it comes off more like she’s swimming on dry land. Very cute! We’ll definitely have an early crawler on our hands. Then watch out world she is sure to be on the move all the time. So looks like we’ll have to child proof our home soon.
The news of the week is that Mike just got a new temporary job at “ABC News Now”. He is producing their entertainment show “What’s the Buzz”. It’s back in the entertainment news arena, where he should be. The reason this is also big news though is because hopefully it means the end of overnight shifts (which he’s worked since Alexia is born). It just hasn’t been fun that he has had an awful schedule and missed so many of Alexia’s cute morning moments. While the job is temporary now, I have faith it will turn into something more. Something he deserves.
Anyway now time for a look back. One of our big moments from the time when Alexia was just a bun in my oven is being featured today on Better TV nationwide. It’s the moment when I found out the sex of my baby:
