A feast for the eyes and the stomach. That’s exactly what took place at a fabulous
event at the Glass Houses in New York City’s Chelsea area on Wednesday night.
Members of the media were invited to sample some of the best meat-free food available. The tasting featured recipes prepared with Lightlife products. I’ve partnered with the delicious line of veggie protein-based meat alternatives, and most of the recipes were my own creations!
Guests were taken on a gorgeous food tour. First stop “At-Home Meals.” The setting made it feel just like you were eating in the comforts of your own home.
Three different recipes were featured at this station. The dishes inspired attendees to cook meatless meals at home that their whole family will love. Dishes included Lemon Caper Cutlets featuring Lightlife Smart Cutlets, Chunky Cornbread Chili featuring Lightlife Smart Ground and Sausage Cheddar Quiche featuring Lightlife Gimme Lean Sausage.
Next up, “At The Office.” This setting offered guests simple recipes that can be whipped up and taken to work. Easy meals like Lightlife Smart Deli Turkey with avocado on seven grain
bread were served.
While the weather was freezing outside, at another section of the event, guests escaped to summer with an indoor pool house. Lightlife Smart Sausages Smoked Style, Mini Light Burgers Original and Spinach Salad with Lightlife Smart Bacon were showcased.
Everyone enjoyed the vegan area of the party as well, especially those looking to avoid all animal products, including dairy and eggs. Guests feasted on Roasted Corn Tacos made with Lightlife Smart Ground Mexican, Pot Stickers featuring Smart Ground Original and Marinated Tempeh Pasta. Yum!
I especially loved mingling with all of the writers, bloggers and TV personalities and producers who attended. As we chatted about eating meat-free meals, waiters passed around Mini Calzones featuring Lightlife Smart Deli Pepperoni, Smart Dogs in a Blanket and Stuffed Mushrooms featuring Lightlife Gimme Lean Sausage.
The guests that I spoke with loved the food, and even meat-eating attendees said after trying the tasty recipes they are going incorporate meat alternatives into their diet. Fox News Channel anchor and correspondent, Julie Banderas and her
husband Andy Sansone, said they are now going to make several meals a week using Lightlife. Healthy Style NY editor, Vanessa Alfano, said the event inspired her to go on a vegan cleanse!
If my recipes can inspire people to incorporate more meat-free meals into their diet that is the best reaction I can ever ask for! All of my meal ideas can be found on Lightlife’s Facebook page. Check them out!
