So on Tuesday’s Oprah, she gave away KFC’s new grilled chicken to all viewers for free. It’s a shameless promotion. I can’t believe she is doing this. KFC must be paying through the teeth for it. She led the show with it. It made no sense andit didn’t in any way fit into the show. She talked about how low in calorie it is, etc. I can’t wait for that institute that checks calories to check this one out. I just don’t buy that KFC has something healthy. I’d be weary if I were you! Also how is this part of Orpah’s Best Life Diet? She pointed out the chicken comes with two sides and a biscuit. Yeah I’ll take mac and cheese and fries. Not exactly 80 calories anymore eh? Meanwhile turns out the business famous for buying chickens from horrible factory farms (of course they are all bad, but they have been accused of buying from some of the worst) ran out of chicken on the day of the promotion. Now it’s customers are livid, but I think they are better off for not sampling the products!
Anyway here are some of the cool food-related stories out there today….
Freedom for Molly the cow. A smart cow in Queens must have known her days were numbered so she hooved it out of the slaughter house. Now she’ll spend her days chilling on a farm. That’s a moo-ey smart cow. Meanwhile on The View today Barbara Walters say after seeing Molly she wants to become a vegetarian. Ha! Take a look at the story one of my co-anchors did on it at NY1:
Here’s a story about some of the great food apps out there for the iPhone, including one for vegetarians. Love, love, love it:
I’m not a religious person, but I definitely agree with the bible when it comes to how we SHOULD treat animals. Here’s an interesting story about the sermon a pastor in Minnesota recently gave on this topic:
Kirstie Alley says she tried the veg thing, but it sounds like she didn’t know how to do it right:
How clever is this? A father and daughter (meat-eater and veg) found a great way to share a meal:
“Feeding you brain”? That’s the interesting take in this article on why certain people overeat:
The Sour Move of the day is the opposite of Molly the cow (sigh). It goes to the idiot who decided to slaughter a cow in a classroom. Really?:
